🚇 Getting to the city centre
The airport is about 15 km southeast of central Taiyuan. No metro yet (under development); reach the city by airport buses or taxi (about 25-30 min and 40-60 RMB).
Capital of Shanxi Province (coal and industry). International/regional airport with flights to several Asian destinations. Halal food options and a prayer room available. International flights use Terminal 2.
🔄 Getting from the airport to the train stations
Taiyuan Wusu International Airport (TYN) is now linked by Metro Line 1, opened in 2025, which serves the airport terminals directly.
Taiyuan South Railway Station (high-speed): Metro Line 1 runs direct from the airport, about 15-20 minutes for ¥2-4 - the best option. A taxi is also close and cheap at about 15 minutes for ¥25.
Taiyuan Railway Station (central, regular and high-speed): Metro Line 1 also passes it directly, about 25 minutes for ¥3-4.
