🚇 Getting to the city centre
The airport is about 14 km east of central Hohhot. No metro serves it directly yet; reach the city by airport buses or taxi (about 25-30 min and 30-40 RMB).
Largest airport in Inner Mongolia, serving the capital Hohhot. International airport with flights to Mongolia and several Asian destinations. The region has a Hui Muslim community, so halal food and prayer facilities are readily available.
🔄 Getting from the airport to the train stations
Hohhot Baita International Airport (HET) is close to the East station.
Hohhot East Railway Station (regular and high-speed): the station is near the airport (about 8 km), so a taxi is the easiest and fastest option at about 12-15 minutes for ¥15-20. Alternatively, airport bus No. 1 from the East station square costs ¥15 and takes about 30 minutes; the station is also served by the metro (Line 1).
